When?
- Mission Groups normally come for a week running Saturday to Saturday.
- We have groups year round.
Cost?
- Flights to Guatemala City run about $600-$1000/roundtrip/person. Groups book their flights independently. While all members do not have to be booked on the same flight, it helps for pick-up if they are grouped on several flights together.
- The cost for the week is $450/person. This covers the following: transportation to and from the airport, as well as throughout the trip; breakfast, lunch and dinner each day (except for dinner in Antigua); purified water at the house and worksites; lodging at the Mission Team House; translators; and house/Give and Teach staff.
- Not covered: Spending money at the market in Antigua, Purchases for the daily convenience store stops, Money for optional excursions at Finca Filadelfia, Church offering (Money may be converted at your local bank before arriving, at the airport, or at a Guatemalan ATM)
- Any additional funds raised by your group towards projects while you are in Guatemala (i.e. chicken coops, houses, etc)
What is a typical Week Like?
Saturday - Arrival Day - On Saturday, flights come in at different times so we are making trips back and forth to the airport. This is a time for your to come in and get your things settled. This includes making your bed. Linens and towels are provided but we ask all guests to make their own beds and clean up after themselves.
Sunday - On Sunday, we attend church in the morning and then spend the rest of the day in Antigua. There are opportunities to participate in various activities at Finca Filadelphia and then make purchases in the market in Antigua. That night we eat dinner in Antigua and this is the one meal you're are responsible for paying for during your trip.
Monday-Thursday - During the week plans can differ depending on the schedule and activities that the group is participating in. A normal schedule is as follows...
